The 6th Annual Symposium on Inclusive Education and Employment on December 2 and 3, 2013, was co-hosted by the Disabled Persons Commission, the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, the Collaborative Partnership Network, and the National Educational Association of Disabled Students. The event provided a two-day opportunity to network, discuss, learn and achieve our common goal of an inclusive and diverse community in the areas of education, employment and human rights.

Activities included keynote speakers, workshops, panels, presentations by senior levels of related government departments; networking by employers, clients, community based agencies, government officials, and the community at large; an arts and craft display and sales (the artists are all “success stories”: persons with disabilities who are visibly successful. The energy around seeing them selling their work is fantastic); and an employer showcase.
