Vocational Crisis Project & Employment Experience Opportunity

The Labor Market Agreement Project was one designed to work with working clients who were in vocational crisis. We have 15.5 Employment Maintenance Counsellors (EMC) working with clients and under this project we had allotted client support monies to assist with various needs of those clients who are working and are experiencing a vocational crisis and those who are not working and require skill development and support and/or a wage subsidy.

Also, under this project, monies were approved for the CPN partnerships to deliver pre-employment workshops and Entrepreneurial Projects for clients in need of skills, which would allow them to have a better opportunity to obtain and maintain employment.

Although financial reports and statistics make an impact in formal reports, we continue to receive success stories about our clients which truly illuminate the impact of our work in their daily lives. Included in this report, therefore, are some of the stories that reflect the value of this project and the work carried out by the staff of the agencies that make up the CPN.

As stated before, Persons with Disabilities who gain employment improve their lives in many ways: a livelihood, improved self-esteem, and an ability to participate in their community. The community at large benefits also by: money going back into the community, taxes paid, and a savings to the provincial and federal programs that previously supported those Persons with Disabilities. It is a win-win situation. This continues to be the case and our statistics and monetary figure bear this out. Thank you for making this valuable program available for People with Disabilities to gain and maintain meaningful employment.
