Created in June 1997 as West Nova Persons with Disabilities. Changed its name in 2007 serving Yarmouth County, Shelburne County and the Municipality of Clare in Digby County, which has a combined population base of 54,233. WNIES co-hosted a round table forum for Women with Disabilities in March 2007. In 2008 WNIES expanded operations to include full time service in Shelburne. Hosted 2008 Service Canada and PWDPC. Projected 185 active clients in 2008/09.
